We are temporary beings subject to the laws of the universe and we are raised and shaped to have the mentality that we can “have it your way” when in reality we cannot. We are determined by a chain of cause and effects, and when things don’t go how we think they “ought” to, then we are discontented. Our longing for comfort and survival go so far as to the point we disillusion ourselves to believe there are such things as ghosts\spirits that live on after our physical bodies die, that there is a god that we will meet after death, etc… There is no evidence of such things and it only reflect mans instinct and longing for survival.
The only way to be content is to accept that we are transient beings in a chaotic violent universe. We are made of recyclable material that will be recycled again, and our consciousness will not follow. If we accept this, we know our term is the only term we have, and the closest thing to an objective purpose that there is, is simply to survive. The universe has no commitment to make us happy. Happiness is drug that too many are addicted to. We can only be content with how things are, not how we think things ought to be.

Travis, very strong statement about happiness, however, this is one man’s interpretations – and me saying: you will be happy if you understand your happiness, like having a child, carying for one, being a mother, loving someone…..etc. Anna :) BTW this is interesting blog

you say theres no evidence for a god etc. well … thats your opinion.
but you also say, our consciousness does not follow. is there any evidence for THAT?
Chris, what does it matter to you if there is evidence for our consciousness following or not? If there is or isn’t, you will just simply dismiss it again with another, “that’s just your opinion.”
Do I need to send in my claim form or does the Doctor send it for me ?
Travis, you’re god. And you know it. This perceived reality will soon show its true colors, and you’ll once again be the one in control.
How can you possibly be something else than that?
There is only one thing in existence; nothing. But that nothing is very much alive.
This counscious nothing can create anything by changing itself into something which can be labeled with a word or thought. The phrase Creatio ex nihilo has always been dismissed throughout the ages due to our human minds failure to grasp the concept of nothing.
Nothing is what enables everything to be. Around every sound that can be heard there is also a certain still silence around it that makes it unique and distinguishable from the rest.
Around everything you see there is also a still spaciousness.
Around every change that occurs there’s also a small separation of nothingness, time.
Nothing (Space, Time, Silence) is the creator, and is blessed with free will.
Something; The creation, will always be limited in a certain way, ruled by laws and restrictions that rely on cause/effect that removes free will.
The creation is always changing and will not continue to exist forever. Something can not exist without nothing.
The creator is never changing, and will always continue to exist. Nothing CAN however exist without something.
I know nothing.
The logic i have built my whole reality upon is crumbling.
With only uncertainty about everything as my only companion.
Nothing makes sense anymore, and there’s nothing i can do other than observe and feel the pain.
Insanity is knocking on my door. And the only thing that comes to mind is Why? Why is this happening? Who am i? Where am i going? Will the suffering ever stop? Why can’t i even control my very own actions? My limbs are moving, but it is not i that are orchestrating its movements.
