But *which* truth? Just kidding, of course! (Seriously, though, have you tried to have that conversation with somebody who wouldn’t settle down until learning the exact details?)
Hi Julie. Yes, I know what you mean. When asked for details such as, “How do you know what the truth is?” etc… I usually explain how I use socratic questioning (or the “socratic method”) to come closer to the truth.
In this method, a series of questions are posed to help a person or group to determine their underlying beliefs and the extent of their knowledge. The Socratic method is a negative method of hypothesis elimination, in that better hypotheses are found by steadily identifying and eliminating those which lead to contradictions. It was designed to force one to examine his own beliefs and the validity of such beliefs.
A Socratic Dialogue can happen at any time between two people when they seek to answer a question about something answerable by their own effort of reflection and thinking starting from the [concrete] asking all sorts of questions until the details of the example are fleshed out as a kind of platform for reaching more general judgments.
You would probably categorize me as one of those people that want the details. :)
I’d say the best religion to praise is merely the practice of ONE RULE!
R#1: AVOID ANYTHING THAT DESTROYS LIFE.
This is the best religion that anyone valuing life can adopt. With it comes tolerance, forgiveness, understanding, helping, cooperation, etc. However, the latter ones are only derivatives (results of the rule) and are achieved only through time and reflection.
I’d like to call this Albanizm, since I’m Albanian and we Albanians tend to follow this idea more than any religion that we might have, although it has not ever been formulated this way by anyone before (which means that I know other Albanians would want to contradict me lol).
Cheers from the person that makes no sense! :D

i dont believe anyone actualyl sees truth. there is a reality but we will never know it. we each have our own models which we use to explain the world but we will never actually clasp truth firmly in our hands.
athiests try to make theeir model as similar to reality as possible. religions try to make theirs congruent with a way of acting or thinkin or feeling. personally i do not know if it is fair to say that the pursuit of truth is the ultimate goal. for if there is no divine power how can there be one. so i do not think u can think worse of others for havin different goals to which their modles aspire to achieve.
Right on!
Hi Kyle! Thanks for visiting. Sounds like you approve. :)

But does truth exist?
Glen, how can illusions and lies exist without truth? Do they not prove truths existence?
so the next question is, can truth be known?
Moment to moment.
