Why is there something rather than nothing
March 11th, 2010

When a theist asks,
“Why is there something rather than nothing?”
it is just a poor and unproductive way to ask “where did everything come from?”
The problem with the question, “Why is there something rather than nothing?” is that it is presented in a way as though “nothing” is another something that could “be,” [...]

Ghostkilla Pac Attack
March 8th, 2010

I was inspired to create a Pac-man remix after playing it again on the Xbox 360 over the weekend. I hadn’t heard those sounds in such a long time, they sounded so fresh and cool again. So I created “Ghostkilla Pac Attack” using different Pac-man sounds and my own 8-bit beats mixed with some dubstep [...]

8-bit kung fu
February 15th, 2010

I composed “8-Bit Kung Fu” using low-fi kung fu sounds, commodore 64 synths, and asian strings. In other words, I was practicing my lo-fi 8-bit roaring hummingbird kick technique. Fighting sounds such as punches, swords, arrows, slaps, etc… were carefully arranged to create the rhythm\beat. I’ll also be working on a dubstep remix of this [...]

Charles Darwin Garden Gnome
February 12th, 2010

It’s Darwin Day, and on these days I like to pay tribute to Darwin by creating an art piece in relation to him and his contributions. This year, 2010, I made Charles into a garden gnome. Yes, that’s right, a garden gnome. I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself. Once I seen the resemblance, I couldn’t [...]

Banana Propaganda
February 11th, 2010

Searching for my Fair Lady
February 10th, 2010

“Searching for my Fair Lady” is an upbeat Dnb track I composed that features the vocals of David Byrne from “My Fair Lady” combined with the piano melody of darkangell’s “Searching for you.” I think everything came together real nice with this. It is soothing and moving at the same time.

Does God Suffer?
January 25th, 2010

In regards to the Haitian earthquake, and the people suffering over it, Jim Wallis, a renowned liberal Christian, says that god is suffering with them. That’s right, god is suffering. He says,
“But I want to say this: My God does not cause evil. God is not a vengeful and retributive being, waiting to strike [...]

Haiti’s blessing in disguise
January 14th, 2010

Pat Robertson, an American televangelist, has recently stated that the reason for the earthquake in Haiti that has killed an estimated 100,000 people is due to a deal they made with the devil a long time ago.
He says,
“Something happened a long time ago in Haiti and people might not want to talk about. They were [...]

Divine Contradiction
January 13th, 2010

On one hand, theists claim that god gave man free-will and that this omnipotent divinity does not assert its power over ones will and choices (because if it did than one would not have free-will), while on the other hand, some theists simultaneously claim that god answers prayers, performs miracles, and in general, intervenes. I [...]

How to spot a miracle
January 12th, 2010

According to Wikipedia,
“A miracle is a perceptible interruption of the laws of nature, such that can be attempted to be explained by divine intervention, and is sometimes associated with a miracle worker. Some suggest that God may work with the laws of nature to perform what we perceive as miracles. A miracle is often [...]

Wheel train
January 10th, 2010

In horology, a wheel train (or just train) is the gear train of a mechanical watch or clock. In this track, “Wheel train,” I carefully arranged complimenting timepiece sounds, train whistles, and glitched out a fair\carnival organ melody that together create a unique experience taking listeners on a carnival ride through a Steampunk-ish environment. Enjoy.

Steam-tock
January 3rd, 2010

Steam-tock was composed as a challenge to myself in attempt to create a working ticking Steampunk driven track. Strange vocals add some more life [...]

“Aluminum Sticks” was created for the 2010 National Biodiesel Conference “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Remix” Project. Ramune Pop

Ramune, my favorite drink, inspired me to compose this song. If you don’t know, Ramune is a Japanese carbonated soda that comes in a bottle, and at the top of the bottle is a marble. To open the bottle you must push the marble down into the neck of the bottle where it rattles around while drinking. I love the taste of Ramune and they are fun to drink. Does atheism define you?
January 5th, 2009

Does atheism define you?
Absolutely not. Atheism doesn’t reflect something you are, it reflects something you are not. It is of no substance by itself. Summer day,
leaves, green and vibrant,

serving the thirst of wild geraniums below.
Autumn comes,
and the leaves begin to wither and die,
spectators gather

Winter, the trees are barren,
the leaves have all fallen off,
and have been mulched
to fertilize the now frozen grass for next year.
Spring arrives,
the grass is green and healthy again,

Boysenberry 8-bit beat
November 8th, 2008

My second track reflecting the 8-bit genre. I do not create my tracks on an 8-bit console but my tracks are composed in the spirit of the 8-bit music genre. I don’t feel the need to limit such beautiful sounds to one medium of instrumentation.

I welcome change,
for only it is steady and consistent.
I welcome chaos,
for it is particularly persistent.
I welcome death,
as if I had a choice.
I welcome everything,
because I am its voice.

Altruism
October 6th, 2008

I am a cynic in the sense that I think that people intrinsically have underlying selfish motives whether they be conscious or unconscious. I have doubts in pure altruism, meaning that I think that most if not all acts have a selfish motive. While some acts may have been acted on in the interest of [...]

The universe has no commitment to make us happy
October 2nd, 2008

We are temporary beings subject to the laws of the universe and we are raised and shaped to have the mentality that we can “have it your way” when in reality we cannot. We are determined by a chain of cause and effects, and when things don’t go how we think they “ought” to, then [...]

The very determinism you deny ironically determined you to deny it.

Wataru Lights
September 1st, 2008

I just got back from Okinawa, Japan and captured 100+ sounds (field recordings) from there. This tracks theme reflects Japanese traffic lights, intersections, crosswalks, and is composed with many of the field recordings I took there. I hope you enjoy it. It is mostly of a concrete music genre but reflects my unique abstract style that you can hear in some of my other tracks as well.

Daily Transit
August 16th, 2008

I just finished a new track titled, “Daily Transit,” which I composed to demonstrate the art of sound (Concrete Music). It is entirely composed of my field recordings with the exception of the organ and drum beat. If there are some sounds you cannot recognize as being “natural,” it is because I have remixed them a bit to compliment the beat of the song.

Deer Chaser
August 2nd, 2008

I created the track “Deer Chaser” using the sound of (you guessed it) a deer chaser I recorded in a Japanese garden. A “deer chaser,” also known as a “Shishi odoshi,” is a bamboo Japanese water fountain with an upright hollow pivoting arm attached to a water source that when the arm gets full it tips over creating a sharp unique sound. They were originally designed to scare deer away from a garden but are now also used as a garden ornament that adds a heartbeat to ones garden. See if you can figure out which sound comes from a deer chaser in the track.

My “Russell’s Teapot” design. I hadn’t seen any real good-looking, clean, accurate, designs for Russell’s Teapot so I created my own. The teapot is zoomed in for you so you can see it, otherwise it would be too small to see as it is supposed to be, it is in an elliptical orbit around the [...]

Determinism and Law
July 10th, 2008

Laws and penalties are in place to condition us to act a certain way, if one doesn’t act that certain way anyways because other conditions have determined them not to, then they are determined to face the penalties. Them having to face the penalties is designed to reinforce and strengthen the stimuli to increase the [...]

What’s the point if we have no control?
July 10th, 2008

Determinism doesn’t give a squat about the meaning of something. It simply acknowledges that the motion of events\actions are due to a perpetual cause and effect relationship.
Those who think there is free-will on the other hand, they claim they have control and choices, that they are free from causality, and have control to work towards [...]

One potential
July 7th, 2008

I often hear people speaking of how they want to be able to reach their “full” potential, as if they were currently operating at some lesser capacity. How I see it is, we are always operating at our full capacity because we only have one potential. Given the nature of causality, the engine of our [...]

The paradox of perfection
July 6th, 2008

The determination of what one feels is “better” is based on one defining a direction of ultimate completeness or “perfected” state of that in which one is trying to better. So betterment must recognize an idealized perfected state in order to determine one is in fact going in the direction of improvement.
But these improvements are [...]

Natures Symphonic Sax
April 25th, 2008

A symphony starts
when the tempest winds blow,
moving gray cloud pads
behind lightening strings bow.
The thunder brass strikes
between the rain drums beat,
rippling once silent puddles
into hi-hat heat.
Undertones of texture,
crackling rooftop patter,
synthetic ambient ocean pads,
indoor muffled chatter.
Natures atmospheric ensemble,
Rhythm-ized to relax,
through the rain drums beat,
and its symphonic sax.

Carbon in the Sky
April 22nd, 2008

Guerilla global warming,
hung from careless hands,
sands slowly sinking,
shrinking tropic lands.
Temperatures are toasting,
roasting artic S’mores,
species extinguished,
dished by summer’s wars.
Heat strokes and skin cancer,
dancing through the smoke,
provoke Mother Nature,
all together now, choke.
Forests set a’ fire,
carbon in the sky,
goodbye dear planet,
for I murdered you and I.

Romancing free will

Romancing free will is but an attempted love affair, a love affair with one’s self, with control, an effort towards independence from the causal environment. 6 common reasons why some people still do not believe in evolution
April 17th, 2008

1. They find the idea of being a descendant of an ape highly unfashionable and degrading. Their ego has grown since the days of their ancestors, and therefore they believe they are far too superior to have evolved from these ancestral apes. They would rather believe something that was written to sell to their senses, [...]

What if you are wrong?
April 16th, 2008

I see it time and time again, after a non-believer has explained away creationists arguments, the creationist will often end their argument with the question, “What if you are wrong?”
When a creationist asks a non-believer, “What if you are wrong?,” what they are really suggesting is that if a non-believer is wrong about god not [...]

The Butterfly Effect
April 5th, 2008

My original design illustrating the Butterfly Effect. The butterfly effect is a phrase which encapsulates the more technical notion of sensitive dependence on initial conditions in chaos theory. Small variations of the initial condition of a nonlinear dynamical system may produce large variations in the long term behavior of the system.
The phrase refers to [...]

Attributes of god that indicate there isn’t one
April 3rd, 2008

I find that many of the characteristics that creationists frequently apply to their god (I’ll be referring to the god, Yahweh) are contradictory and self cancelling. Creationists assert that their god has no beginning, no end, is an uncaused cause, and cannot be scientifically identified or examined as it exist outside of scientific observation [...]

Hiroshima 08:15 August 6 1945
March 30th, 2008

I’ve always felt a great sadness over the atomic bomb nuclear attacks that took place on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 and at Nagasaki August 9, 1945. I feel that this was one of mans biggest failures in judgment ever. Anyways, due to my feelings on the subject, I decided to compose a soundscape reconstructing one of the atomic bomb droppings. I begin the soundscape about a minute before the dropping, and you will hear what happens (or the lack of happenings) afterwards. I also created a signature inkblot design to go with it as a visual.

I present to you my soundscape, Hiroshima 08:15 August 6 1945

Honoring requests for love
February 22nd, 2008

If love is “granted” because it is requested, is it of equal value to love that is volunteered without request? Here are my thoughts on this query.

Angelina’s Lullaby
February 8th, 2008

I composed this track for my daughter Angelina when she was born just four months ago. I put a lot of thought into it and wanted to create something that was peaceful and warm. Ignorance is the default value
February 4th, 2008

I’ve seen some discussions lately that suggest that atheism is simply a lack of belief in god. This is somewhat misleading because atheists do not just lack a belief in god, they “disbelieve” in god.
To reach atheism, I think it must go in this order: Ignorant – agnostic – atheist.
By default we are all [...]

Evil does not exist
January 25th, 2008

I understand the term “evil” as being analogous to “bad” in that it is a human construct or concept that is relative to and dependant on that in which a human perceives as “good.” Good and evil are simply the results of one’s discrimination between this and that and are in relation to how one [...]

The ancestral smile

the air increasingly glides through your fingers
until, Wham!
Your palms collide.
As soon as you can peel your hands off of each other,
Wham! Wham!… Wham!

A primitive means to communicate indeed,
Your hands red and stinging, yet a grin,
following the air between your fingertips
an ancestral smile lights up your face.

Avoiding a backwards mentality
January 23rd, 2008

I have been hearing a lot of what seems like backwards mentality to me lately, like, “I am a Christian therefore I believe in…” instead of, “I believe in…therefore I am a Christian.” or, “I am an atheist; therefore I do not believe that a god exists.” Instead of, “I don’t believe that god exists, [...]

The subjects of my love
January 17th, 2008

Love is such an easy subject to be difficult. I often feel like I love everything equally. But then is it really love? For there is no contrast to distinguish it. Everyone writes for themselves
January 15th, 2008

Some people say they write for themselves, and some say they write for their readers, and others say they write for both.

Atheist need faith to disbelieve?
January 14th, 2008

Secondhand Consequences
January 11th, 2008

Creationists often say that deep down inside, atheists really do believe in god. However, creationists are terribly mistaken if they actually believe this, because atheists do not believe in god, and they are not hiding a secret belief about god. I feel that creationist say this just to deemphasize their own doubts. I rather think [...]

In the beginning, there was skepticism
January 9th, 2008

Motivation to act good
January 7th, 2008

I think it is quite curious that theists have to use heaven as their motivation to act “good.” If they are only acting good because they want to go to heaven, is the act really good? I mean, after all, their motivation is selfish. They don’t act good for god, they do it because they [...]

The Moral Atheist
January 4th, 2008

Unless I am asked, I see no reason to volunteer that I am not a football fan, or that I do not play golf, or that I don’t believe in fairies. There are not even labels for positions like these like there is for not believing in god (atheism). I think that the fact that [...]

Who is God?
January 4th, 2008

The question shouldn’t be “who is god?” it should be, “what is god?” To ask “who” is god is to personify “god” and reflects strongly on that man created god after himself.
So, what is god?
God is a mythological supernatural being imagined by man to fill in the gaps to the questions about the universe and [...]

The Richness of Non-Belief, of Atheism
January 3rd, 2008

Theists often claim that a lack of belief in god removes one of hope, causes one to be cold, full of despair, and results in a lack of motivation to live ones life. However, on the contrary, I find quite the opposite is true, it is because atheists lack in belief of god, that allows [...]

God takes credit for Mother Nature
December 31st, 2007

I’m aggravated with people (creationist) giving “God” all the credit all the time for everything that they find good, beautiful, and right, in their lives. This man-made “God” gets all of the credit that should go to Mother Nature. People should start respecting Mother Nature, not God. If people don’t take care of the [...]

When is the last time you said “Hello” to your friendly neighborhood ink-bot? His rocket propelled boots allow him to soar high into the sky. I call him “RocketBlot” as he is my latest inkblot design.

Beautiful Death
October 19th, 2007

You,
like the autumn leaves,
are dying.
Spectators gather
to admire the beautiful colors.

Tolerance
September 17th, 2007

I work for a company that has a zero-tolerance policy. What’s amusing is, all the employees tolerate it.

The Pursuit of Freedom
August 24th, 2007

The unyielding pursuit of freedom
tragically enslaves the pursuer to the pursuit.
For the very freedom one is pursuing,
was used to begin the pursuit.

Mr. Grown up
August 13th, 2007

I know you feel me
galloping around in your heart,
’tis me, that little child,
still finger painting art!
I know you hear me
when I tickle your ear,
“Hey, Mr. Grown Up,
you’re still my favorite Crayon engineer!”
I know you see me
when you look to the sky.
Remember us collecting the stars,
and when we first learned to fly?
I know you taste me,
when [...]

Love Bug
July 20th, 2007
Swallowed whole
July 13th, 2007

Her every word rides on the breath of disrespect and negativity,
infecting me like a virus, it spreads,
and slowly the life-force of my heart dims
swallowing my once optimistic nature
into darkness.
I come to a crawl
slithering like a snail,
destined to the endless tortures of her well aimed daggers.
I begin to think, that even death’s speed would be kinder
than [...]

The Fourth night you are the Stars
July 8th, 2007

Oh, victorious fireworks,
cast from our Fathers pipes,
the Fourth night you are the Stars,
and the rest you paint in Stripes.
Your explosive lights and sonic booms
echo our Independence debut,
the commencement of Freedom and Justice,
and the meaning of Red, White, and Blue.
Every home in the nation
breathes the smoke of your glory,
hotdogs, parades, and barbecues
around bonfires and a story.
Oh, [...]

Some say I’m crazy
June 26th, 2007

Dear love,
Your heart beats
to the rhythm of the rain,
I feel your pulse,
in my every vein.
I see your smile
in every sun-drenched day,
I feel your kiss
and I become your clay.
I wipe away the tears
when I hear your cry.
I carry you like the wind,
carries goodbye.
Some say I’m crazy
and that love knows no death,
because I never stopped loving you
since [...]

When the moment becomes still
June 25th, 2007

Memories take hold
when the moment becomes still,
dear images from the past,
become today’s current thrill.
Archives taking refuge
in minds unable to let go,
another life,
to which every hour does owe.
Reflections of yesterday
escape into our lives,
a passenger of the present,
that sometimes still drives.
When the moment becomes still,
and memories take hold,
the paintings of the past,
become today’s new old.

Warm Complexions
June 22nd, 2007

The center of the sky,
my mind flutters
with the long, white, linen curtains dancing in the wind,
circulating the scents
of fabric softener
throughout open abodes.
It is there, I rest my back against
a centered Romanesque pillar,
casting it’s shadow upon the many
dried paint brushes
that color warm complexions
to the surface of the ground.
The surface of sound
echo’s
of wooden wind-chimes
soft reverb, complimenting
the zephyr’s [...]

Brainwashing Beds
May 18th, 2007

Let go of the rabbit ears
and satellite dishes,
cable transports of terrorist militias.
Let go of this
polluting encyclopedia,
this box of brain rotting media.
Changing channels, reflect a violence,
of a world where politicians roar
and the honest are silenced.
Signals of hostility are hypnotizing our heads,
In turn,
turning our couches into brainwashing beds.
A murderer is set free
and an [...]

You are the show
May 2nd, 2007

I see you hiding below your skin,
secretly waving to me to come hold you when
your tears fall revealing your soul
out from the chambers of bodily control
your cloak and dagger psyche pays me a visit
I see it, I know it, but I wonder what is it
connecting us so, I see it in your sparkle,
I feel it [...]

My Greatest Descent
May 1st, 2007

I threw myself off a building, donating my body to the air.
My cloths ripped off and went twirling, as did my head, with a tear.
My limbs twisted round, bending backwards into flames
and oh it felt good, compared to life’s wicked games.
With a hollow “thump,” my body smashed into the cold cement,
lifeless and raw, undoubtedly – [...]

Creative Thinker
April 9th, 2007

Designed for creative thinkers. This could be designers, philosophers, artists, and anyone who considers themselves a creative thinker.

Bitter Truth
April 9th, 2007

The truth is only bitter to those who do not want to hear it.

Love 2 Design
April 8th, 2007

I love 2 Design. I’m addicted to design, and all forms of it. I admit it. I stay up all night designing, and go to work each day on just a few hours sleep. But hey, I love 2 design…and that’s why I designed the “Love 2 Design” piece. For all you out there that [...]

I Walk on Butter Bubbles
April 2nd, 2007

I walk on butter bubbles
floating through park trees,
soaking wet,
my tongue between your knees.
You gasp in satisfaction,
You love it when I tease,
with the sun against your face
you say, “oh baby! again please.”
The air plucks your breasts,
creamy pink becomes rosy white,
irresistible sweet peaks,
why lick, when I can bite.
Moans echo through the grass
shaping into river streams,
toes curl,
and heaven [...]

Sunrise
March 26th, 2007

Sunrise,
an open window,
a warm morning summer breeze carries
the scent of breakfast bacon
throughout the house.
Her smile,
an open doorway,
her hair gently drifts upwards
warm and golden,
Sunrise.

Albanian Eagle V2
March 25th, 2007

This is my second rendition of the famous “Albanian Eagle” from my Inkblot design series. I was inspired to redesign my previous Albanian Eagle for a Albanian friend of mine who requested that I use my artistic ability to give the Albanian Eagle yet another extreme makeover. I have made this 2nd Edition Albanian Eagle [...]

Dolphin Design
March 11th, 2007

Dolphins are so cute, I just couldn’t resist creating my own unique dolphin design. (Used Japanese brush strokes.)

With Every Thought of You
March 7th, 2007

Like the ocean waves
we once watched together,
my body too, now crashes,
against those rocks.
Like the mist of air
that caressed our faces as one,
my mind, drifts,
on that ocean breeze.
Like the time we waited for the sunrise
on new years morning,
my skin, lingers,
ready to rediscover your gentle touch.
Like the warmth
that glowed between our love filled eyes,
my heart, melts,
with every [...]

Hoops Basketball – Inkblot
March 3rd, 2007

I thought it might be fun to create my own basketball design using my inkblot technique. The end result turned out very nice. The basketball is clearly identifiable through the inkblot and is accented with air-like swirls that give it a fancy feel.

I Live on a Pixel
March 1st, 2007

Our planet,
but a single pixel in space.
Our lives,
insignificant, or perfectly in place?
Little motions,
multiplying into megascopic reactions.
Little steps taken,
significant, or trite transactions?
I live on this pixel,
this pixel called, “Earth,”
and sometimes I wonder,
what it’s all worth.

Skanderbeg – Inkblot
February 27th, 2007

A while back I redesigned the Albanian Eagle for an Albanian friend of mine. Well, I took it a step further and designed my own rendition of the famous Albanian hero, Skanderbeg. Skanderbeg is also known as, “George Kastrioti, ?skender Bey, and the Dragon of Albania.” Skanderbeg is a national hero for the Albanians as [...]

Unveiling Vacancies Void
February 25th, 2007

Sorry, I’m not going to do the unveiling, you are! Here is the question -
What space does emptiness occupy?
Now, all you have to do is post your theory, or fact, to the proposed question.

Apple Tree – Inkblot
February 24th, 2007

I wanted to design something fresh, clean, calm, and crisp, so I decided to design an “Apple Tree.” Using my inkblot technique, I set forth, and this was the final result.

Shamrock – Four Leaf Clover
February 20th, 2007

Given that I do have some Irish blood and it is getting around St. Patrick’s day, I thought I would design an inkblot that reflects the Legend of the Four Leaf Clover. According to legend, each leaf represents something. The first leaf is for hope, the second leaf is for faith, the third leaf is [...]

Frosty the Penguin – Inkblot
February 18th, 2007

“Frosty the Penguin” is one of the newest editions to my inkblot design collection. You know, how could I resist, penguins being so cute and adorable and all.

Dirty Knots
February 15th, 2007

Nuclear tear drops
on terrorist head chops
between drive-by gang shots
cloaked in government conspiracy plots,
a revolutionist is silenced,
his free thinking condensed,
they censored his genius,
for how dare he go against
their hearsay and rules,
their schools for proud fools,
their faith without glue,
a faith in which through
dirty looks they shunned him
for his honesty, so brim,
trimmed in good intentions,
free from fabled extensions,
he [...]

I still do – Valentine’s Poem
February 14th, 2007

Even after all the fights, and all the words exchanged,
all the painful nights, and expectations shortchanged,
through all the tears, after all these years,
I still do,
I still love you.

Uncharted text-scape
February 13th, 2007

Sow thy seeds now,
thou pretense not parted
reveal thy rhythm guarded
uncharted text-scape,
cape of metaphoric tricks,
affix thy words fiddled
riddled selected picks
upon my fading canvas
kiss silent emptiness adieu
construe a bosom beat mix
fixed with message true,
tattoo thy bare passion
fashioned by I in you.

Angel Heart – Inkblot
February 10th, 2007

Given the time of the year, I decided to design a piece that would reflect the upcoming holiday, Valentines Day! I titled this inkblot design, “Angel Heart” and it should be obvious as to why.

Actions Louder Then Words
February 9th, 2007

Let my actions ring louder then the whispers of my words,
and may my whispers mirror the meaning of that which has occurred.

Okinawa Summer – Inkblot
February 4th, 2007

The Okinawa Summer Inkblot design is full in color and displays the beautiful spirit of the Ryukyu Islands. This artwork features hibiscus flowers, shisa, tropic sky, sun, and more… My passion and love for Okinawa was my inspiration to design this inkblot.

Why “Hate” is a Bad Word
February 2nd, 2007

The meaning and power the word “hate” carries by simply using it can be devastating. When one says, “I hate this or that,” hate is not placed in that in which you hate, but rather in your own heart.

Phantom of Light
February 1st, 2007

Cloaked in a charcoal clothes,
sneaky silhouettes tiptoe under lights gaze,
and it’s in these days, the brightest of days,
when out come the darkest of the shadows.
Haunting every form and every shape
Mirroring every movement and every ray
the darkness follows, for light’s its prey.
It lets no sparkle, nor glint escape.
Light is Jekyll, and shadows, Hyde.
You can not run, [...]

Butterfly Breeze – Inkblot
January 31st, 2007

Butterflies, magnificent gentle creatures that fly so gracefully through the wind. Butterfly Breeze is my latest inkblot design that artistically displays the butterflies beautiful winged form.

Best Technique
January 31st, 2007

The greatest martial artists,
when they become masters of the art,
and have found “The Way.”
They realize their best technique,
is not to fight.
Masters of and art often reach this stage of duality.

Okinawa Sanshin – Inkblot
January 27th, 2007

This piece is titled “Okinawa Sanshin” from my Inkblot design series. The Sanshin, is a beautiful snakeskin-covered Okinawan instrument that produces enchanting sounds that fills the hearts of all who listen.

It’s in the Details
January 22nd, 2007

It’s definitely our discrimination of the details that determines the difference between dull and dazzling.

Proving the Existence of Truth
January 19th, 2007

If it is true that everything is a lie (an illusion), then the statement contradicts itself by being true, thus making the statement false by involuntarily proving truths existence.
If it is false that everything is a lie (an illusion), then it again simply proves truths existence.
Either way, Truth is proven to exist.
In life, “the illusion” [...]

I, You, Me, We
January 18th, 2007

Today I heard somebody say, “Where am I?” I thought to myself, “You are right where you are.” You are always right where you are. You are always right here and now. Then I pondered my use of the word “always.” “Always” is a word that shouldn’t be used lightly. It’s an endless word like [...]

To Save or Not to Save
January 17th, 2007

James over at “Right On!” posted his opinion on a new plan called, Edge (Evolutionarily Distinct Globally Endangered), a conservation effort to save endangered species. James’s focus was on “man” and mans obsession with control and stepping in on Mother Nature by trying to preserve a “naturally?” dying out species.
There is nothing new about this. [...]

Kijimuna (Okinawa Fairy) – Inkblot
January 16th, 2007

This piece is titled “Kijimuna (Okinawa Fairy)” from my Inkblot design series.
In Okinawa, there’s a kind of ubiquitous sprite or goblin known as kijimuna, though in the northern area it is called sema or bunagaya which means “a living thing with a large head.” Most all of the stories describe the creature as a little [...]

Smokin’ Hearts – Inkblot
January 14th, 2007

This piece is titled “Smokin’ Hearts” from my Inkblot design series. Especially designed for the rebel in you. Click the image to enlarge it.

Blank Verse
January 13th, 2007

I am, of course, none other than blank verse. I don’t know where I’m going, yes, quite right; And when I get there (if I ever do) I might not recognise it. So? Your point? Why should I have a destination set? I’m relatively happy as I am, and wouldn’t want to be forever aimed [...]

The Womb – Inkblot
January 11th, 2007

This piece is titled “The Womb” from my Inkblot design series. I designed this inkblot because today my wife told me she is pregnant with our fourth child.

Quad Kicks – Inkblot
January 11th, 2007

This piece is titled “Quad Kicks” from my Inkblot design series. I’ve been rollerskating since I was about 14 years old, and have always loved it. Therefore, I was inspired to create this inkblot dedicated to the art of Rollerskating.

Perfect Imperfections
January 10th, 2007

The obsessive compulsive perfectionist part of me wants to fix the crack in my windshield,
and the creative artistic free part of me wants to leave it, feeling the fracture adds character to the car.
Character…?
More character then what the already now stale squash scented air freshener adds to its interior?
Yes.
I think that perhaps the two compliment [...]

Enter the Dragon – Inkblot
January 8th, 2007

This piece is titled “Enter the Dragon” from my Inkblot design series.

Believe in the Truth
January 8th, 2007

When people ask me what religion I am,
or what do I believe…
I reply,
“I believe in the truth.”

Blazin’ Aces – Inkblot
January 5th, 2007

This piece is titled “Blazin’ Aces” from my Inkblot design series.

Last Moments
January 5th, 2007

I laid there,
a seasoned vet of time,
inhaling the blue of the sky,
exhaling the whites of the clouds.
The air felt lighter,
scents smelled fresher,
tastes tasted sweeter,
and everything radiated in “love.”
Time was no more then a measurement,
and I had spoiled, but like a fine wine.
I knew my place, my oneness with all.
No “me,”
No “you,”
My final breaths were riddled
with [...]

Albanian Eagle – Inkblot
January 5th, 2007

This piece is titled “Albanian Eagle” from my Inkblot design series. I was inspired to redesign the traditional Albanian Eagle for a Albanian friend of mine who requested that I use my artistic ability to give the Albanian Eagle an extreme makeover. I have made this design available for purchase on tshirts and some printed [...]

Summer Kites – Inkblot
January 2nd, 2007

This piece is titled “Summer Kites” from my Inkblot design series.

Ice Pterodactyls
December 4th, 2006

Ice pterodactyls,
fractals frozen through,
rendered from the heavens,
coloring hell blue.
They fell while I slept,
while I dreamt of just you,
you, and your lips,
seductive, yet true.
An illusion, a dream
a dream of perfections,
tattooed in warm lips,
answering wakes lost lover affections.
Intimate reflections,
where we snuggled and held each other warm.
We hugged and we huddled,
we cuddled in one form.
Surrender! Titan snowflakes!
So that [...]

Shisa – Inkblot
December 1st, 2006

This piece is titled “Shisa” from my Inkblot design series. Shisa or Shiisaa (Okinawan: siisaa) is a traditional Ryukyuan decoration, often found in pairs, resembling a cross between a lion and a dog. Many people put a pair of Shisa on their rooftops or flanking the gates to their houses. Shisa are wards, believed to [...]

Clowning Around – Inkblot
November 27th, 2006

This piece is titled “Clowning Around” from my Inkblot design series. Some see a clown, and others may see a duck.

The Sweetest Kiss
October 27th, 2006

While searching for the sweetest kiss,
I found you in a moon.
You drugged me in your liqueur lips,
fed by sugar spoon.
Mesmerized by your buxom peaches,
exchanging oral mist,
I’ve known no drug as sweet as this,
this nectar in your kiss.
I traced the lines of your lips with mine
like a detective traces clues.
Curvatures so moist and warm,
formed in fevered [...]

You Make a Difference
October 19th, 2006

You make more difference then you know.
You create the spark,
which grows into a flame,
that then flickers and spreads,
eventually turning into deep burning coals,
kindling the world.

Empty Your Cup
October 18th, 2006

Have a problem handling the truth?
Take it down with a cup of understanding.
Don’t understand?
Then empty your cup.
Now you’ve made a mess.
Clean it up.
Now go wash your hands.
Now go.
You are ready.

HU
October 18th, 2006

As I was flipping through the channels on TV last night, I came across a show titled “Inked.” Which apparently is a reality show on a tattoo parlor in Vegas. Customers would come into the parlor and request a tattoo to be inked onto their skin. What caught my attention though were these two senior [...]

Transient Beauty
October 18th, 2006

She told me “You have beautiful eyelashes,” so I ripped them out and gave them to her.
Then I said, “You have beautiful eyelashes.”

Ones Oneness
October 18th, 2006

There is no within or without when one understands ones oneness.

The Simplicity of Complexity
October 18th, 2006

Complexity can only exist through simplicity.

Time Travel Dream
October 17th, 2006

October-16-06, I dreamt that I time traveled. I was in the Marines again; I think it was boot camp. I knew I was back in time, as I was aware of the present (my wife, kids, etc…) I was in search of a building, which I knew had this time traveling device, a time [...]

Snowflakes in October
October 12th, 2006

The winter snow fell in fall.
Dry snowflakes,
landing on my tongue
slipping into the darkness
scraping their corners against the back of my throat on the way down.
Yes,
these evil little grits,
disguised as soft and cuddly snowflakes
forced winters sandpaper down my central cavity
turning me into a sore trumpet.

A Silent Accuracy
October 11th, 2006

I often remain silent.
For words representations and counseling to and from the truth are rarely if ever adequate delegates.

Guidance
October 11th, 2006

Everything I say is a lie.
Everything I do is true.
Words either guide us to or away from the truth.
They cannot be mistaken as the truth itself.
Ironically, even lies are true to themselves.

An Artist
October 6th, 2006

I construct,
in the dusty corners of the moon,
orchestrating art,
with knife
and spoon.
I conduct,
under the orange peel of land and lakes,
moving vibrations,
communications
of beats and breaks.
I compose,
on the whites of fallen trees.
Alphabet remixing,
rhyming,
Siamese.
I create,
on every canvas and coast.
Romancing with form,
an artist,
art
engrossed.

Priceless
September 28th, 2006

When will I know the color of the flames in which money burns?

You Have One New Message
September 14th, 2006

Please _leave _a _message _after _the _beep…
Beeeeep!
Hello, It’s me.
Where are you? It’s three.
Anyways, here it goes,
I’m tired, and it shows.
It’s over,
we’re through,
and this time its true,
as true as the colors of your blows.
The attraction is gone.
You’re reserved and withdrawn.
There’s no flame, just cold
and this feeling, so old.
I needed to feel needed,
wanted and seeded,
in love.
Out of [...]

Lavished
September 8th, 2006

She kissed me,
in BBQ sauce glossed lips
- cherry red
bled from hot wing tips.
She extended her tongue,
slipping it down my throat.
Intoxicated, she whispered,
“You devilish dreamboat.”
She lavished me,
almost swallowing me whole.
and I loved it, her,
tasting my soul.
Tonight, I was her basket
on a balcony of lust.
Picnicking with passion
like the wind romances dust.

Missing
August 30th, 2006

They disappeared,
both of my angels,
while playing with those monsters
in the adjacent green.
Searching,
crazily, I entered neighboring homes -
for my own,
missing.
Frantic, I
followed the echos
of children playing in the distance
- little voices
My bloodline severed,
nowhere to be found,
I broke, tears ripped from my eyes
and I sang the tune that anguish cries
Later to be nipped
in my rump
to the spin of [...]

Typhoon Tempest
August 28th, 2006

The train stopped in its tracks – literally.
The lights went out.
It was silent except for the musky smell of the old seat fabric. (As if a smell could make sound.)
Passengers began whispering and curiously looking around in wonder.
Under their breaths, panic lurked.
An intercom message riddled in a haunting static buzz broke the murmuring mix.
In Japanese, [...]

Master of the Universe
August 7th, 2006

Master of the Universe
Mr. know it all
Jack of all trades
A solution to every call
An answer for every question
Aren’t you the professing pro
Don’t you just know everything,
except for what you don’t know
You can fool the green
Throwing tricks off your shelf
You can play the ignorant
while betraying your own self
Trapped in endless tales
Just touching truths surface
Relentless king of [...]

Deprived of the Moon
August 4th, 2006

Dreadful words,
every month they went out
threatening the days,
inflicting tortures,
and often laughing,
for having deprived us of the moon.
This poem is an Erasure. Erasure is a process by which you can take any text and from it, create a poem. You do so by erasing words from the existing text, and the words that remain creates your [...]

A Big Mess
August 1st, 2006

After a brief “remove plastic and stir” intermission,
I pressed which apparently was the microwave “LAUNCH” button,
for in the following moments, the microwave door sprung open,
launching my Country Style Chicken TV dinner through the air.
Peas ricocheted off the ceiling and cabinet doors,
and torpedoed the feline water dish below.
Gravy drenched potatoes splattered the kitchens lime green walls
and [...]

Awakened
July 31st, 2006

It wasn’t until I woke up, that I realized I was sleeping.

Seriously Poor Content
July 31st, 2006

Harry Rutherford over at Heraclitean Fire has doused my blog in flames by graciously decorating me in the “nicely designed but seriously poor content” award! Oh, how I do appreciate an honest review. Conversely, upon such a statement as “seriously poor content,” I would have liked to have seen some paradigms to back up his [...]

A Woman’s Shine
July 21st, 2006

The cafes stone wall leaned against my backside.
My order was in,
a “Kicken Roast Beef Bagel Sandwich” was in preparation,
and when properly groomed, it would call out my first name
as though it, I, and its designers, were familiar.
As I fondled the roughness of the wall to pass time,
the bell riding door handle turned, “Ding, Ding!”
- and [...]

Wet Dripping Tongue
July 17th, 2006

In a dry spell,
rain falls, but only between your toes.
You can run, skip, and play through it,
but still, you’re left dehydrated, baked,
and crunchy.
In order to overcome such a drought,
you press on,
until another spring comes along
and humidifies your voice again.
Then, like a wet sponge, soaked
in the juice of inspiration,
again, you quench the desert’s thirst
through the perspiration
of [...]

Blogging Clone
July 14th, 2006

Quote him,
Quote her,
Quote me
if thou must prefer.
Strew thy pages
in another’s tongue,
plastering posts
in reused moth-eaten dung.
Might as well spell
“unoriginal” as thy title,
for thine entries
seem like a parrot recital.
Not one novel idea
or thought of thy own,
just another wannabe me
blogging clone.

Not Yet Set Free
July 14th, 2006

Why art thou so defensive?
Was it something I said?
It is thee, who allowed me to move thee,
thou and thy discriminative head.
Thou grasps at an idea of how the world should be,
and to thee, any other way is a good as dead.
Thy way, my way, his way, hers,
our way, always, one way wed.
Behold, I am thy [...]

Footprints of a Transient Existence
July 12th, 2006

Time taxes life
until were left bled,
dead bankrupt,
caught up,
having paid our debts
of breaths
to the flower beds we’ve tended
to carry on our name
through their pollinating payments
to the soil,
loyal to preserve
our footprints tints of a
transient existence.

Microscopic Relatives
July 11th, 2006

I’m microscopic
in this seemingly infinite universe
where dust and sand
are my inferior companions.
Canyons swallow me
as if I were a rain drop
sent on the rays from stars
of the past.
I am but a single element,
belittled by that in which is beyond my reach.
How could I be so arrogant
to value myself over a lonesome blade of grass?
A blade of [...]

Cause and Effect
July 11th, 2006

Accidents do not happen,
actions and reactions do.

Fly by Thought
July 9th, 2006

These written rhetorics I read
exceed the daily dialogs between
routine conversationalists exchange
of speech arranged on the fly by thought
wrought with weighted words wound
around past experiences influential
designer hands in motion thin
perceptions of peoples faces masking
private places from phantom truths
tracing the one and only truth that these
written rhetorics I read
exceed the daily dialogs between
you and I

Backspace Erased Smiley Face
July 7th, 2006

I bet you’ll tell me this crap is great,
and create a calligram smiley face
behind strings of phony praise
and confidence boosting barbs
beckoning me to continue
with my uneducated attempts
to write
poetry with meaning,
leaning on a web thesaurus
for synonym support to uphold
a clicheless catwalk of words
strutting their stuff in unison
for a common cause – to strike
emotion into the wanting [...]

Poetics of Poem Perceptions & Sensitive Poets
July 4th, 2006

A discussion took place here and here on the sharing, criticizing, and commenting of poems.
It seems the subject came up as a poet questioned whether or not that one should
share their poems with the public or not and how criticism affects a poet.
My first reaction to this plane of thought is to raise the question,
“Who [...]

Drunken Poet Pen Technique
July 3rd, 2006

An epic battle unfolds
between man and paper
leaving a trail of bloody ink
flowing from top to bottom
swift slashes
ashes the once virgin page
staged with graceful loops and blots
plots of the Flying Dragon Brush style
swept between parallel lines outlined
in calligraphic movements
of brushes Tiger Claw Bristles
moving the page forward
on Frogs Footprint Form
hopping through the canvas
catching flaws with an elastic [...]

Calligraphied
June 29th, 2006

Clouds brush the sky
in calligraphic spirals of ink
dripping on origami shaped lands,
which upon impact… Splosh!
forming into droplets of rain.
Off the tips of white lotus heads,
dragonflies skip,
rippling waters once motionless surface,
stirring brush painted koi
resting below.
Lily pads touch,
then float apart again.
Bamboo chimes collide,
lift, and spin on tsunami winds
breath, of an ancient ocean tide.
Outside haiku, brew
on boiling kettles [...]

Buzzerless Morning
June 28th, 2006

Missed the alarm
Brushed teeth
Put on clothes
Started car
Raced to work
Four minutes late
Turned on laptop
Logged in
Checked email
Remembered last nights dream
Scary
Mouth dry
Hands dry
Coffee cup empty
Missed the alarm

The Secret Admirer
June 26th, 2006

Why must I compare thee to a star,
when thou shinest brighter than any star I’ve gazed?
How can I relate thee to a prickly rose,
when thine eyes shalt never wilt a mans heart?
I shall not express my love for thee
with metaphors, similes or words direction.
Nor shall any amount of kisses and hugs suffice.
My affection for thee [...]

Free Spirit
June 26th, 2006

I hear birds sing,
I am their song.
I feel winds breath,
and I float along.
I smell flowers fragrance,
and become the scent.
When the trees tremble,
I am present.
I see the sky
I am a cloud.
I swim the sea,
depth endowed
I touch your face
and feel your heart.
I taste the spirit
of natures art.

Crushing Writers Block
June 26th, 2006

As far as the creative block is concerned,
Forget everything you know, and you don’t know,
Remove your opinions, and just be. Receive the world unfiltered.
Move with the energy you can’t always see, yet feel.
Take the time you need to connect with the environment
and when you’re ready, you will know when,
let your fingers move to the sound [...]

Window Fan
June 24th, 2006

Favorite fan, spinning paced
whirling wind, window cased
Stirring in fresh squeezed air
Soothing spirals freshened fair
Citrus rays shadow through
blades of breeze, sun brewed
Mornings breath, cotton laced
vents vanilla apartment space
Refreshing tonic, honey winged
Lifts my spirits, season stringed
Zephyrs zest warming waltz
stimulates senses, freeing faults
Amorous affair with winds wand
Generated on gyrations au fond
Fills my room with cooling crush
Humming breaks the [...]

Sleepless Inspiration
June 24th, 2006

Magnetic steel blue eyes
painted in shadow rings
struggles to find midnight
bound by wakes strings
Hollow limbs maneuvered
moved by restless mind
missing moons slumber
where dreams do unwind
Days speed intoxicates
passion charmed veins
Fearing missing moments
soaked in wonders rains
Night calls left unanswered
buries me days best friend
Grave unrest rebounds me
on death beds pillow mend

Relative Dependency
June 23rd, 2006

My heartbeat
eats the world
swirled in caramel pebbles
of love and hate disguised
by lies based on truths sweet tooth
for questions and answers relative dependency
to exist with one another
under the skies and stars
wooing the moon and Mars
sending goodbyes through laughs
and cries tearful smiles
smiling at flowered roots unfolding
through soils depths holding
my grave perfectly in place
where my final fatal

Sugar Coated Words
June 23rd, 2006

I’ve been told to speak more lightly
Politely, sugar coat my words
My verbs are too direct
Subject to the defensive weak
oblique minded small talkers
Gawkers, offended by my
dry honesty
Tragesty gossipers
Worshippers of wish-wash
I’ll squash you with my clarity
Verity in my speech
Each word to the point
Anoint your mind with my
supply of rubbishless replies.
Revise your jibber jabber
Blabber not a word of [...]

I left my heart in Okinawa
June 22nd, 2006

Upon arriving,
I would have never known that by the time I left
that I could find myself in love
with its easy going spirit.
A spirit that took hold of me,
embracing my heart in its kingdom,
the Ryukyu kingdom of worry free wonder
and a peaceful calm.
I felt in place on these Islands,
Islands of serene color where its people
are brothers [...]

Fabricating Foe
June 21st, 2006

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip, Pop!
Cop off another
cocktail of canned responses.
Responses containing artificial flavor.
Savor thy words I will not.
I will not,
I will not
be blinded by thy hollow eye.
By and by, thy will collapse.
Relapsed by lies weight
Slate upon thy shoulders.
Boulders that must be repeated,
treated to maintain the illusion
that no intrusion of falsehood
is seated.
Greeted by malcontent,
cement upon thy flowered words
curds thou [...]

Below thy Surface
June 21st, 2006

Dost thou care not thy purpose?
Worthless art thy steps unguided,
divided by thy heart and mind enchanted.
Granted, tis not thou I blame.
Framed by thy settings ignorant brow
thou hast been claimed.
Ashamed be not, for thou be
unfree, inferior to a captive dot,
caught in natures unsealed destiny.
We art but expendable dust,
thrust upon changing seas.
Guarantees are few to none,
spun between [...]

Blind confession
June 21st, 2006

Visually impaired,
I smell a storm is stirring
- raindrops reach my heart

Sleeping under the sky
June 21st, 2006

blankets of warm clouds
cover me gently at night
- the trees tuck me in

Sakura Pink
June 19th, 2006

What becomes
of the fallen cherry blossoms,
when the mighty east wind blows?
Would they settle
to the twist of dragonfly fist
or would the stay composed?
Suppose their petals
flew through the air
slicing the wind in two.
Samurai would bow
wondering how
such delicacy could bend bamboo.
Under the tea house,
embroidered kimonos
take their final drink…
…for green tea is no match
for the beauty of east winds
mighty [...]

Lightning Bug
June 19th, 2006

Dusk falls,
and on the tips of bent blades
little glowing heartbeats rise
illuminating the darkness
Lanterns of love
hovering through the air
their tails set afire
lovers blinking night affair
Moons mini murmurs
levitations of light
pulses of passion
fashioned in flight
Golden stars of the land,
echo nights constellated sky,
astral illuminations,
of the stellar firefly

Rotten Delicious

Living Poetry Never Rest
June 17th, 2006

The most perfect poems ever composed,
drifts in thoughts undisclosed.
An inner voice whirling rhyme
Changing form, prosodic in prime
Whimsical words wheel along
psyches fleeting secret song.
Hidden harmonics undefined
Melodic metrics move by mind
Internal compositions, vibrant yet shy
Silent serenade subjective to I
A dynamic concerto in constant change
Where egos lyrics madly rearrange
Estranged metaphors bend in brains
Similes of life flow through veins
This [...]

String Beaned
June 17th, 2006

Our minds do not see. Deceived by what we perceive
to be serene is actually polluted views unclean,
string beaned, between our fixed opinions and
faulty discriminations, misinterpretations of
a void reality. Neutrality polluted, rooted
in uncontrollable random conditions of
atmospheric environmental influences
sequences of manipulated thought
caught in material phantom facts
taxed by a disguised haunting
wanting – needing to believe
To believe we receive [...]

Space and Design
June 16th, 2006

This poem was solely composed
through the employment of spaces
separating words short travel from
attic to fingertips into meaningful places
creating a form of art through typography
viewed through monitor screen cases
glowing glass display displaying type
to visiting faces frowning on such races
as this string of words whimsical rhyme
timed to meaningful text separated by laces
of space and design..

Transient Conditions
June 16th, 2006

Why do these exquisite snapdragons
arranged so neatly
in a hollow vase
for my viewing pleasure
make me feel so sad?
Could it be because their life
has been selfishly plucked
from their natural habitat
and put on display
for everyone to admire
their temporary beauty
wither and die?
or
because it reminds me of
my transient status which
I have not been able to comfortably accept yet
and that I [...]

Ordinary Things
June 16th, 2006

There are no ugly things,
nor beautiful things.
Only ordinary things.
Things in which light and shadows highlight,
and perspectives distort.

a few gray hairs
June 15th, 2006

Peeking through the thick of his brunette-do
silver strands found their way
between combed side locks
accenting his once young features
with the shade of seasoned experience
reflecting the length of the many moons he has seen
chase the sun around the stars constellations
designed by an entity he is incapable of fully understanding
through a mind molded by an ever changing environment
in [...]

Lost in Translation
June 14th, 2006

I see the sun
shining brighter
than the words I’ve
written down
suggesting its light.
Ah, a radiance
lost in translation.

Snowflake Chandeliers

Cherry Blossoms of the Palace
June 12th, 2006

The cherry blossom tree
sneezed on the wooden bench below,
covering it in pink petals,
accenting the snow.
A sound was made,
but no echo was heard,
for cherry blossoms of the palace,
kiss without word.
A swift samurai wind,
swirled the petals through the air,
passing pasty white faces
with calligraphy for hair.
There, they found their home
on her once virgin kimono,
painting it imperial,
with a haiku [...]

Sakura Fever
June 12th, 2006

Just today, I
found you again.
In a scent, your
face touched my skin
I opened the bottle, and
my breath was taken.
There you stood with me,
an old flame awakened.
“Japanese Cherry Blossoms”
labeled the pink petaled perfume.
Although to me, it labeled you.
A familiar aroma of love in bloom
Like a tsunami tidal wave,
recollections of you and I drowned me.
Quenching my affections waking [...]

Motion of Changes Movement
June 12th, 2006

Once you understand that the only thing that is certain is “change”
and realize your oneness with the motion of changes movement,
“I” disappears, and reappears with everything as one whole.

Nothing Lasts Forever?
June 12th, 2006

“Nothing lasts forever” implies that
a: “nothing” will exist forever
or
b: everything will eventually cease to be including “nothing?”

The Value of Words
June 11th, 2006

A few words
pieced properly,
are far more plentiful
and effective
then a thousand
words spoken
without
an objective
———————–
Value
is not found
in the volume
of words we whisper
Rather it’s found,
in the few
relayed rightly

Final Fantasia

Friendship and Love
June 9th, 2006

She led me to a watch tower,
to show me a collection of wings
but it was nightfall,
and not a bird was to be seen.
Yet we stayed, and watched the sun,
run its descent below distant rice fields,
fields which spoke to us
in the tongue that fever wields
I embraced her from behind,
holding her close as her body would approve.
The [...]

Flight Plan – Enjambement
June 8th, 2006

3D constructs pressed
into paper airplanes
with obtuse angles
folded and creased

transport of light objects
complex fractal shapes
with scraping edges
wedges and geometric
forms formed by algebraic

@ver the Wire – Enjambement
June 7th, 2006

However heavy the hyper highway hurries,
worries weight is wired in our wide area networks
security support system of safety nets
backup cassettes cased in concrete closets

Catapulting Crickets
June 6th, 2006

Olive blades bent over with sharpened dew,
catapults cricket legs above overgrown shoots.
Midair, they salute caterpillars catching zzz’s,
in hope to land on cherry blossoms bosoms.
Captivated by the slingshot performance,
virgin fruits blush, instantaneously ripening.
Nearby, tree roots break earth’s surface,
to witness the marvelous trampoline acrobats
Cicadas in neighboring trees hum
“the ride of the valkyries” tune
as though there were an [...]

Reports of Nothing
June 4th, 2006

They report
of nothing
in every article
that uses commas.
Scores of gentle hiatus,
to think over the surrounding context.
Text often poured in syrup
of sticky inconstancies.
This emptiness,
expressed in a half moon crescent,
accents movement with a pause,
vacuuming sound in-between words.
A silent vacancy,
which resonates an accuracy
liberated from languages
playful misguidance.
Negative space accentuated
through the surrounding contents adrenaline,
curling vibrations of meaning
through quiet whispers of [...]

Is Violence Always Wrong?
June 3rd, 2006

Mike offers a 1-Minute Contemplation:
Is violence always wrong? If not, when is it justified?
Gautami Tripathy said…
Violence is not always wrong. I feel for self defense we need it.
I said…
What do we defend though…We defend attacks…Not all attacks are violent.
So why would it be OK to violently defend oneself against a nonviolent attack?
Violence rebounds itself… I [...]

Suspended
June 3rd, 2006

Freeze present moment
Spent in fevered flames
Contain time expended
Bended on raptures rains
Rains of love felt tears
Smears my heart red
Wed me in this instant
Cement this wink dead
Hold my feelings frozen
Chosen not to escape
Shape this time forever
Never leave souls scape
Let this flame flicker fair
Where kindles do burn best
Heat passion ignited blood
Bud forever within my breast
Suspend this feeling now
Allow [...]

Liberated Love
June 3rd, 2006

Almond eyes, flickering fair
burning bronze, deep and rare
Sepia ashes circle below
coals deep burning gentle glow
Tender carnation lips of desire
Kissing mouth of spellbinding fire
Thy tender touch triggers flames
Torching suitors hearts and veins
Lovelier than bathing butterflies
In thy wake I’m held hypnotized
A fragrant flower without name
Yet thy beauty remains the same
’cause thou hast kindled my stone
I wish to [...]

Little Market Girl
June 3rd, 2006

Little market girl what’s your name?
I see you sitting there every day
with your mother selling herbs,
once planted on residents curbs
I see you, but I dare not stare
Other passerby’s pay you no glare
I wonder why you’re not in school
I feel the world has been too cruel
I contemplate what I should do
Anything, something, just for you
You look [...]

Passing Beauty
June 1st, 2006

For a moment, I fell in love with her pretty face… in a drivers side mirror.

Deadlocked
June 1st, 2006

Your rescue efforts are exhausted,
frosted in obfuscation.
Hopeless dead ringers,
deadlocked in animation.
Doubt squeezes your breath,
and suffocates hollow eyes.
Disguised in your grinning face,
lay underground goodbyes
Lost in translation,
and stirred in a maze,
paths leading nowhere,
but endless okays.
Days introverted conversations,
between you and your moods
concludes to a doorstep
prepped for minds skewed.

Locomotive Mind
May 30th, 2006

I’m exhausted,
by these bullet train thoughts.
This relentless race track mind,
blurring everything in its path.
Questioning, examining, calculating
the world, in search of what?
Answers…
unreachable in their constant motion.
I’m tired of interrogating,
translating thoughts and emotion
into meaning, leaving my head dizzy
busy as blenders whirling blades.
Imagination gone wild,
compiled in never-ending reflections
of passenger trains locomotion,
carrying me to my grave.

Recycled Bones
May 29th, 2006

My poems,
extensions of your own,
may not seem directly related,
in which they are shown.
Bone fragments recycled,
rearranged, and sold.
Inspired through life,
old words retold.
Rolled into one,
none are without tales,
of you and I, and
the birds and the whales.
Sails of the pen,
through ink at hand,
expands to blank sheets
and reheats used sand

Flip Flop Free

In-between
May 26th, 2006

If one were to ask me…
What are you doing right now?
Where are you from?
Where are you going?
I would have to answer…
I am in-between coming and going.

Scent of Experience
May 26th, 2006

As we age,
do our bodies absorb
and accumulate the scents
from our lives?
When we are ripe,
grandmas and grandpas,
do we reek
of experience?

Don’t Expect
May 26th, 2006

Expect nothing. And don’t even expect that.

Substance
May 26th, 2006

In order to write,
sometimes,
we must forget
words.

Slain Brain
May 25th, 2006

That’s an itch,
and this a scratch.
Or are they the same,
perfectly matched?
Minds attached
to a switch,
“Off and On”
a distinctive glitch.
Pitch me a fork,
cork and spoon.
Utensils we use
under one moon.
Tune your piano
to the rain.
Gain your freedom
from slain brain.

Technicolor Poet
May 25th, 2006

Pooping ice cubes
in volcanic sands,
melts tornado mints
on etch-a-sketched lands
Bands of wired butterflies,
fly out ringing ears.
New year’s explosions,
diving toilet engineers.
Twisted intestines,
shaped into a poodle.
Eaten with chopsticks,
like sushi and noodle
Technicolor gardens,
of heaven and hell.
The spell of a poet,
spit from inks well.

The Tempest
May 23rd, 2006

Over the hills and through the trees,
I’ll catch you in a box.
I know you’re their moving the air,
you sneaky flying fox!
Ocean waves speak your name,
they move to your touch.
Much as you hook a kite,
I will sink you such.
There you are guiding the leaves,
whirling them round your thumb.
Dumb of me not to see,
you’ve mastered every crumb.
You [...]

Smile for Me
May 23rd, 2006

I long to feel your melting touch,
the warmth of your hand.
You ignite me with your sparkle,
flamed by eyes command.
I run to greet your sunshine smile,
kissed with dimpled cheeks.
Every word from your scarlet lips,
my ears soundly seek.
It’s easy for me to love you,
not one can compare.
You’re the meaning of my design,
you’re my breath of air.
I’ll be [...]

if you don’t take it?

Wrinkles
May 22nd, 2006

Thank you,
for pointing out my wrinkles.
I’d point out yours,
but,
I have too much ironing to do myself.

Water Kites
May 22nd, 2006

Navigating night curves.
Dodging oncoming lights
I roll down my window,
to fly with water kites
Scents of airborne sprinkles,
envelop nostril and lung.
The taste of aqua mist,
melts my longing tongue
Champagne of the clouds,
Shrouds with a hint of gray.
Ocean refreshments,
A raindrop bouquet.
I savor the moment,
becoming one with the rain.
High on blue crush,
natures umbrella cocaine

Cafe Cocktail

Beverage black in caffeine
Rising aroma, rich roasted

Starbucks cup, logo signed
Dawns daily grande grind
absent of sugar and cream
I like it bathed dark extreme

Moves dog day till one b’fore six
Work week rolls, java jimmied
Leaves nerves shaken shimmied

Can’t sleep, midnight is too soon

Dragon Fruit Dreams
May 21st, 2006

Captive in coconut currents
An island breath by breeze
Ocean waves crashing voice
Shells whispers tropic tease
Papaya pineappled paradise
stems kisses citrus scented
Hibiscus buds blossom pink
leaving faces well contented
Surfing summer gold shaded
Sipping mango cut cocktails
Emerald foliage cools the sun
color sprinkled in flower trails
Butterflies playfully flutter fly
around guava gardens gates
Passion fruit dragon drugged
Eaten, island dreams create

I’m the one you’ve been looking for
May 20th, 2006

I am the one you’ve been thinking of when you wonder if there is anyone out there like yourself, wondering if anyone hears your voice, your thoughts, your cries, pains, ideas, and questions. I am the one you’ve been looking for everyday, the one that sees through you, that feels your loneliness, knows your search, [...]

Zen Companion
May 19th, 2006

I’m your Zen companion
Your mind’s cup of nothingness
I allow you crystal clarity
Enlightening your being in bliss
Allowing you to echo reality
Reflecting the world’s way
Become one with the whole
Living completely in today
Freeing you from attachments
Discerning distinctions drivel
Discrimativeless tub of thoughts
Where suffering silently shrivels
I fill you not with emptiness
As filling implies some substance
Empty of even emptiness
Removing selfish sense
I’m [...]

Sushi Swallowed Spewed
May 19th, 2006

Parasitic permissive pawns
withdrawn and self-deceiving
believing everything we’re told
controlled credulous seedlings
feeding on fabrications fowl mold
sold to the highest blind bidder
bitter we’ve unwittingly become
numb to truths untailored taste
replaced by facts fiction framed
aimed to populate prevarications
vindications validations vanish
banished beyond republics repair
aware are few who follow fame
claiming fantasy as reasons reality
commonality commonly commanded
demanded by unquestioning followers
hours sour intoxicated with [...]

Sand Castles and Sea Turtles
May 18th, 2006

Words, tassels in hand
shaped into sand castles
among beach shells,
sells the shores surf, short
Waves of disaster.
Unmastered motions
of oceans bubbling waters,
daughters of gentlemen’s
slaughtered lyrics.
Transfixed by the tide
Tied to the turrets,
our wits are crushed,
brushed under suns verity
Sea turtles sincerity
is in their solitude
nude on the beach
speechlessly crawling
in silence and peace.

Wired
May 18th, 2006

The lights dimmed above the sink
The soap bar dish shivered.
The bath pulsed in a glowing charge
through the energy spike delivered.
Under tubs electric ocean,
the radio sang itself to sleep.
Lingering about static bubbles,
laid a sunken lifeless heap.
Above the surface, smoke lifted
with the scent of boiled flesh.
Energetic sparks dance in large
charged on death, fried and fresh.

The Killing Fields of I
May 17th, 2006

Abusive army of ego’s
Battle of Selfish Pride
Suppressing friendly fire,
where unlike minds collide
Arrogant soldiers fighting
for me, myself, and my
Self centered civil war
The killing fields of I
Submitting to none, in your
conceited combat campaign
Pretending to be perfect
Really, you’re full of pain
Selfish tears descend inside,
so you slice your pulsing vein
You conclude your lonely life
Slouching over, self slain

Refresh
May 16th, 2006

Ping!
You are now reading these words,
You are aware of this very moment.
Now experience each moment after this one with the same awareness
Now look at everything’s unique yet equal beauty.
Take notice to the things that you may have been accustomed to before,
the grass, the leaves blowing on the tree just 5 feet away from you.

The Tao of Poo
May 16th, 2006

How much time do you spend in the restroom each day, month, year, in your entire life?
More then you probably realize. Everyone does it. It is natural.
Our bodies need to release the pollution inside.
When we use the restroom, It’s our private time, our quiet time.
It is in those moments that many of us are aware [...]

Unboxed

If you try to think outside the box,
you are stepping into another.
There is no inside,

I color a lot
May 15th, 2006

I color a lot,
Finger painting the trees
in seasonal shades
blended by breeze
I brush the waters,
with bristles blue
and coat the sky
in a airy hue
I roll the land
in lively green.
I sprinkle the flowers
in rich velveteen

Struck
May 14th, 2006

One must stand up for what one believes in,
because only then can one trip over its delusion
and hit ones head on the truth.

In Control?
May 13th, 2006

Do we really have a choice, can we really choose our path, are we truly in control? We’d like to think so, but I wonder. Or are we just reactions to the previous actions before us? Are we not just the results of experiences with our environments, shaped and molded?
We like to think we have [...]

Dream Support
May 11th, 2006

Lunar lantern.
burning bright
Romancing rooftops,
seducing light
Moonbeam mirrors,
bending rays,
twisting prisms
on halos blaze
Midnight’s minx,
nocturnal sun of night
brings days dusk

Kissing crescent,
A lucent escort
A twilight satellite
with dream support

Twenty Touched Twice
May 10th, 2006

Dedicated to my friend Keiko. Happy 40th Birthday!
As a chandelier
of snowflakes melt
by the radiance of the sun.
Your kindling heart
rendered us one.
It seems like just yesterday
Unexpectedly, you came
Treating us to your smile
On friendships flame
As seasons breath does embrace,
You’re kindness does enthrall.
You received us on nestled hugs,
warmer than the colors of fall.
You’ve touched our hearts
with your selfless [...]

I Love You, Yes you
May 10th, 2006

Hey you, reading this text, I love you.
Yes, that’s what I said, I love you.
Why so suddenly, you may ask. Actually, it’s not sudden at all, though every moment is a moment of suddenness. My mind was wandering again as it does all the time, and one thought led to another, and I left myself [...]

Cheese Fetish
May 9th, 2006

Dear beloved diary,
Today, I had
a dairy dream.
For on the lips
of devils curds,
I made love
to triple cream
It filled me
with its cheddar.
It sprinkled me
in its bleu.
It stringed me
in mozzarella.
Oh, how
my excitement grew
I nibbled on its
nacho ear,
and licked its
gouda balls.
Mad in love with
ricotta kisses,
I screamed out,
Wisconsin calls!
I love how cheese
spreads its legs
around my wanting tongue.
Raping me
in parmesan pleasure,
French [...]

Overturned
May 5th, 2006

Uninvited dots
of rising sun
riddle my garden
like blood splatter
with twiddling legs
trapped upside down
struggling to stand.
Once, airborne patterns
buzzing on happy feet
tumbling over each other
in unnumbered masses
buttered on summer’s
Tokyo spa beds.
One alone,
fashions a ladylike delicacy
fancy and petite
parading its spotted kimono
on virgin cherry blossoms
heads
Multiplied by nights fireworks,
their excess geisha performances
scar natures haiku,
and foul Zen space

Who am I
May 1st, 2006

Who am I really? Who is but the form following the function of what, and what I am is a person communicating through actions, speech and writing. My thoughts, ideas and perceptions are interpreted through sensory receptors and then expressed through symbolic representations called words.
Words, mere arrangements of tokens organized to create titles which are [...]

Unmovable
April 27th, 2006

Old tree standing restless
Embracing limbs flowered
Reaching rainbows rains
branches shiver, showered
Trunk firmly soil rooted
by seeds season planted
leaves stance jaded stiff
and slumber disenchanted
Laying down is unnatural
You breathe standing tall
Postured upright sleeping
Only lonely leaves can fall
Wise old tree, unmovable
you move the skies along
For you I cotton whisper
this soft somnific song.

Reflections
April 25th, 2006

This mirror reflects my image,
or does it reflect my mind?
Maybe my mind reflects this mirror
or is it just all one combined?
Forget the mirror. There, it is gone.
Instead, through a window, I look out.
Light cast my twin shadow below
Or does the shadow project me about?
I move, stepping into a clouded puddle
There, my figure vanishes into ripples [...]

What is it called?
April 25th, 2006

It’s not called anything!
They are just letters
combined to create words
assembled into sentences
Divided by thin lines,
adjectives creating color
intermingled by similes
transformed by metaphors
verbs move the page
characters of my thoughts
spelling my minds imagination
through paragraphs of expressions
title-less movements of my mind.
This writing, a strange scribbling,
revealing the depths of my creativity,
I don’t call it anything,
but some might call it poetry.

Surfs Up!
April 24th, 2006

Surfing twilight twinkles
Tsunami wave reflections
Sparkling below my board
Glistening star projections
Warm ocean winds whirl
Parting tanned tropic face
Riding the breaking waves
Worries to dreams replace
Splashing waters sprinkle
Spraying tears beach blue
Waves rise reaching moon
Balancing on horizons view
Finding dreams wind caressed
Shaken on salt washed sands
Beaches below balance bend
by surf boards salted hands
Riding waves crystal crush
Bathes my mind citrus coated
Moon mirrored [...]

Experience Okinawa
April 24th, 2006

What is it about Okinawa that I love so much? Well, I can say its just about everything. I love the Atmosphere, I love the people, I love the roads, the buildings, the trees, the flowers, the warm weather, the language, the hospitality, the culture, the beach, the island, the stores, the nightlife…
There is something [...]

between prickly rose thorns
- morning dew glistens

Misty Daisies (Haiku)

Sounds Like Rain
April 24th, 2006

Today it rained
on innocent ear.
My son of smiles
he volunteered,
at the sound of
Wind Chimes
blowing ballad
bells of rhymes
he calmly spoke
with visions vain
and full of heart,
“Sounds like rain”
“Sounds like rain, daddy,”
this sound
“Sounds like rain – raindrops falling down”
I stood there stunned
by his translucent touch
Enlightened by my boy
more than much
Pure perception
painting the sound of rain
Wind chimes carol,
he did explain
through [...]

Violated Violets
April 21st, 2006

Brittle blossoms,
beauty blackened
Suspended stiff
on stagnant stem
Lifeless leaves,
damned to wither
Delicate descent
of death delivered
Desktop violets
once so fresh
Within five days
thou lost thy breath
Romance dried,
rigor mortis kissed
O’er the weekend
thy beauty missed
Magenta petals
eternally sleep
At times falling,
as if thou weep
Planted pink,
plucked in prime
Passion’s present
and killing crime

Exhale and Release
April 20th, 2006

Undress my static heart
Move my unmoving mind
Strip tempered thoughts
Remove my parched rind
Rape me in the sunlight
Solace my ciphered soul
Taste roots raw identity
Awaken my virgin gold
Escape with me, in freedom
Skinny dip in abysms blue
Expose our bare essence
Instincts dance openly nude
Inhale, loves naked innocence
heavens flavored white whisper
Exhale, releasing life’s breath
Feel freshened, lighter, crisper
Allow wind to pass through [...]

Chamber of Cognitive Chaos
April 20th, 2006

Confining quartet of walls
One, drawn in cold iron bars
Shadowing days in darkness
Absent windows, swallow stars
Charged with concealing
Masquerading movement
Manipulating minds motive
Rejecting self improvement
A convicted felon of fiction
Imprisoned by ego’s vanity
Kissing lies, tongue and all
I challenge my own sanity
Chamber of cognitive chaos
Mentally insane cellblock set
Trenchant thoughts try truth
Locked away in dreams net

Why me?
April 20th, 2006

I entered,
centered by
loves absence
abstinence unglued
screwed by a moment
spent in lustful sin
skin sealed in blood
bud from numb actions
contractions spit me out
without instructions
reproductions joke
soaked in neglect
reflect on my being
guaranteeing that love
above all
falls short from my heart
apart from the world
curled in fetus position
conditioned with hate
straight from birth
earth sheds a tear
near silent ears
years pass by
I silently cry
wondering why
me

Flowers and Dust
April 19th, 2006

Stretched days spent
in content decoding
loading latency
preloading life
uncovering eyes
revised reflections
injections of lies
compromise my
views of baby skies
below dandelions sigh
for I
am missing splendor
rendered over ages
pages unfolded
before
sore sleepless eyes
disguised within
winds waving
goodbye
I
long to lay down
gowned in scents
of flowers and dust
just bloomed
groomed by bees
leaving me pleased
to die under
the thundering
thumping footsteps
of majestic trees

Discovering Gandhi and Satyagraha
February 28th, 2006

I can not believe that only just today, I discovered Gandhi, and his belief structure. Sure, I knew his name and knew that he was a prominent figure in India, but I did not know his beliefs, and just now I come to find out that his beliefs mirror my own. Satyagraha, a word coined [...]

Learning to Love Winter
February 22nd, 2006

I live in a four season climate, and it seems the older I get, the less I enjoy the Winter season. It’s cold, slushy, messy, and salty. It just doesn’t go well with my fastidious nature. Granted, I’m open-minded and can appreciate every season, it’s just that Winter doesn’t make feel good as it use [...]

I am no longer I
January 29th, 2006

I write,
wondering if I’m meant for writing
Fighting, to find my purpose
I prefer this,
to exist and transcend
to extend beyond the surface
mist of daily routines
between these organic machines
Figurines, animated but not in reality
And this state of superficial mentality
Originality is lost in this
abyss of recursiveness
gone berserk
I work,
questioning if I’m meant to work
A clerk, I sell nothing but the [...]

Writing Haiku Rants
January 22nd, 2006

1. I have been reading and reviewing a lot of Haiku on www.poets.com recently. These Haiku that I speak of, people have adjusted the title to “Modern Haiku” which they define as a Haiku that has no form and can be written about subjects other then nature.
Now here is my thoughts on that… [...]

The Hands of Time
January 17th, 2006

I will soon die
by the hands of time.
for there is no escape
from grandfathers chime.
The pendulum swings
Precious moments flash by
Past, present, and future
Right before my eyes
Measuring my days,
the arms of this clock
with its infinite grasp
continues-tick tock
I’m unable to stop
Its springs and gears
The cuckoo strikes
And gone are my years.
My last hour has passed
And the minutes have stopped
a [...]

Country Slang (Poem)
January 14th, 2006

I was cruisin
Abusin the law
Raw, night and day
A city slicker
Quicker, then a six shooter
Cuter then a daisy
Crazy as Billy the kid
Kid you not
Bought some buckshot
Hottest hot-shot on the block
pound for pound
Around, high noon
High tailed into a saloon
I met this dame, a country fox
Locks of golden curls unwind
Behind her tilted cowboy hat
She sat, down next to [...]

What I Want This Year (Poem)
January 2nd, 2006

You ask me what I want this year
Dear, the answer is crystal clear
Steer my heart to your ear
Hear my heartbeats pounding score
Your love sincere, I want to be near
Here with me, share a golden tear
Appear before me with open arms
Alarms kiss our search adieu
Into a new light we find a new
view on life so radiantly [...]

Truth Seeker
December 13th, 2005

I’m back again
Running with this pen
Scribbling my wicked rhymes
Committing grammatical crimes
I’ll hit you up
close-up
so
Shutup
And listen
Mind and glisten
I may not make sense to you
Because you cannot see through
Your judgmental views
Influenced by TV news
Don’t snooze
Your confused
With reality and fiction
Your living a contradiction
Of who you believe you are
Hiding behind an emotional scar
Your priorities ajar
Trying to find the way
Careful [...]

Writing Haiku Best Practices
October 5th, 2005

I have read a lot of Haiku lately that do not even look like haiku anymore. I guess these “modern” haiku do not have to follow any rules or best practices other then the 5-7-5 syllable format. A Haiku is a “formatted” Japanese form or poetry. I feel that taking away that formatting, no [...]
