HU

As I was flipping through the channels on TV last night, I came across a show titled “Inked.” Which apparently is a reality show on a tattoo parlor in Vegas. Customers would come into the parlor and request a tattoo to be inked onto their skin. What caught my attention though were these two senior customers who came in together. They both displayed a bright vibrancy in character and spoke of a word in which I hadn’t been introduced to before. They were singing this one word, “HU” pronounced, HUE. Listen. They briefly explained to the tattoo artists that the word had something to do with an “inner truth” and by singing this word would lead a person to peace and tranquility. I tried singing the word to myself while watching the show to see if it had any effect. Surprisingly, it actually did feel good to emit this sound.

Upon further investigation online, I found that this word, “HU” is and ancient word for God. I also found that the word is strongly associated with a religion called “Eckankar“, the religion of the light and sound of God. Therefore, from these findings, there is a chance that the individuals at the tattoo parlor were followers of this religion. What encouraged me to research the word “HU” so much was that the individuals had associated the word with the following or searching of the “truth”. That is what I am interested in, the truth. Though the followers of Eckankar emphasize the value of personal experiences as the most natural way back to God, and according to them chanting “HU” brings them closer to God, not necessarily the truth.

So, my search continues on finding the best methods to having the closest relationship with the truth as possible.

Hello Radhika, and welcome. You may be making more difference then you know. You create the spark, which leads to a flame, which flickers and spreads, eventually turning into deep burning coals, kindling the world.

As always the truth is no farther than your own heart….and is always found in the silent place, the place of solitude.
Unless, of course, you mean the truth as mental construct, or knowledge, otherwise known as ‘worldly wisdom’ in some circles.
I like the more esoteric approach mentioned at first, though less satisfying to the egoic self. My personal relationship to truth is letting go of the search altogether and learning to embrace whatever arises in this moment. I’m trying to simply let it come to me. And it always does.

I do the same Ron, that is “embrace whatever arises in this moment’ but is that the “truth” or just being “aware?” Perhaps they go hand in hand or/and are one and the same.

If that is the case, I have found my mate, and It’s and ongoing relationship. :)

Ah, the perennial question - what is truth?
And, yes, I think they are one and the same in the sense that awareness, stillness, creates the environment in which truth can recognized when it comes. We don’t always have to be ‘knocked upside the head’ to see it when it does come.

hu is the term used by sufi (muslims mystics) to invoke the Divine who has no name. Thus Hu meaning, He or She pointing to Divine.

Lenin would refer to you as “useful idiots”? Hu = Serpent man; 1215 – Magna Carta. Masonic author, George Oliver, also noted Freemasonry’s connection with the Druids.  “The Druids had a high veneration for the Serpent.  Their great god, Hu, was typified by that reptile; and he is represented by the Bards as ‘the wonderful chief Dragon, the sovereign of heaven’.” [George Oliver, Signs and Symbols, New York, Macoy Publishing and Masonic Supply Company. Pedet Finis Aborigine, which means “Look for the end in the beginning.”

HU is the god worshiped by the ancient Druids.

‘Hu the Dragon that rules the world, his car is drawn by serpents”

    The HU in “Human”.

    Hu man
    God man

“made in the image and likeness of the gods” (elohim)

    YHWH in Hebrew (Yahweh)

    IHUH in Latin

The Talmudists removed the vowels to make the ineffible name of God unpronouncible.

What is not widely known is that they also reversed the letters. IHUH is really HUHI

HU HI (again in the Latin)

    HU-”He”
    HI-”She”

The name of God contains in it both male and female, masculine and feminine.

    God and Godess

HU is the masculine side of God

    But which “god” is it?

The only concern is Hu often refered to as the “DRAGON”, a name for the Satan (advasary).

Satan, the Prince or God of this world, a rebelious deputy diety soon to be deposed by Christ. (Christian Beliefs) His rebellion allowed to work the plan and purpose of the God of Gods but to be sumarily put down in the eleventh hour.

HU definately an ancient name of Diety.

    The only caution, which diety?

Humbly submitted by a nobody with nothing from nowhere

Hu is the Fruit of the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil. Evil because the Egyptian sun god is Hu. Good because in the book of Job 36:4, EliHu (MY God HU) said, “One who is perfect in knowledge is with you.” King James. Good because God rained down the Manna. Manna in Hebrew is ManHU = Angels food psalm 78:25, King James. Gods Hebrew Name is YaHU and please marvel that everybody Sneeses out the sound ahcHuuu, Psalms 75:1 “for youre wondrous works (HUmans) declare that yore Name is near…ahcHUUU, YaHU. Either Yah is God and HU is satan (opposites), Or YAH is God and HU is Jesus. HU is definately the serpent of Sumerian Mytholigy god called Ea. Please if anybody has any info on HU E-mail me at ah.chu@live.com. Ive been searching manny years. Warning: Eckankar is Evil! Do not pray to Harold Kleemp. Jesus Is the truth, the Word (HU??? or YAH???)

Wyatt, I apreciate the fact that you are in search of the Truth if you can figure out just how truth is defined. No two people have the same definition. It us usually easier to talk about Evil and Satan. In a brief summary, they are best represented by one word: Fear. Anyone who uses fear is practicing evil. Yes, that goes for the priests and preachers of Christianity and the priests of Islam. They do this to keep their people “in line with God” so to speak. Not all followers of Jesus and Mohammed do this of course. Most don’t. But for the simple minded that want that sort of religion, they do. By the way, the word Alleluia or Hallelujah, two variations, are derived from the contraction of two other words, Allah and HU. Yep! It’s two ways of praising God in one Word.

Just to clear up another point, ECKists don’t go around worshiping Harold Klemp. You missed the boat if you do and you will be disappointed in the end. It isn’t him. It’s the Spirit that flows through him. Jesus said the same thing. “It is not I that doeth the works. It is the Father within me, he doeth the works.” So the focus should be on the Holy Spirit that flows.

So how does one find truth? When you come across a teaching where what is said rings in harmony what you feel is true within you, you will know it. That’s about the best way I can put it. If you don’t feel that ECK is for you, it probably isn’t at this point in time. But this must be your decision, not someone else’s. I say this so that one day you can become a master in your own right. You do your own thinking and not follow someone else’s all the time.

Jim youre right. I shouldnt speak out against something I dont understand. Eckankar was it for me until I read every book they have. I even began to pray to Harold Klemp just like the books suggest. Then I read the Bible from cover to cover not once but 8 times. Some people dont have the chance to read that much but I read what Harold wrote saying that he hisself is higher than jesus. If Harold wasnt cut off from the Pearly gates like he said he was then I would be all for Eckankar. I went to an Eck meeting and i brought these issues up and I was surprised that the followers didnt even Know that Harold belitles Jesus. In all of Eckankars books it says not to read the Bible. Thats why I read the Bible 8 times. So I dont listen to what others say. Im drawn twards HU that much is true

Hello everyone, it’s been a fun read here. I,m not a member of Eckankar but I have read 95% of their books and some many times over and I can’t help but think that Wyatt’s way of lookiing at the teaching is a bit immature. One can easily misinterpret much in the early studies of this material. I’ve been reading this stuff for 30 years. In my early stages and possibly on a lesser scale to-day I have misunderstood much of it but as one matures spiritually by living in a way set out by the masters, including Jesus, then the understanding comes. Life’s experiences will make it so. I look at the Eck books a lot diferrently to-day than I did 30 years ago.

Harold Klemp finds it important to do the spiritual exercises every day to help us grow spiritually and some of these exercises can be a focus on a holy person and it is not neccesary for it to be Harold Klemp, he never says “it must be me”, it can even be God and not a holy man if that is more comfortable for the person. These spiritual exercises eventually have a profound effect on the individual. He or she may not see flashes of lightning and a big bearded face spouting the ten commandments from up in the sky but will more often eventually move into a more joyful and balanced state within him or herself hence the description of the two Eckists in the beginning of the story. Truth can be more easily ascertained in this state.

By the way I dislike the way the serpent is looked upon as evil by the western world. Some native cultures have a high respect towards the qualities of a serpent, for one to have this creature in a dream or vision would be looked upon with esteem. Many of my neighbors kill these beautiful creatures when they come across them out of great fear of them, I am the only one around here that captures them and release them away from where someone will harm them. I have looked through the fear of the western world and found their is nothing to be afaid of. Others will also see the beauty of much in life by letting go of fear.

Each person approached ECK from a different direction and in their own unique way that is specifically designed for them. So many people don’t get into ECK on the first appearance. It takes some time, usually arouund 10 years before it finally has taken root somewhere in the consciousness. And it may not be in this lifetime. But when someone interreacts with it in some manner or other, they usually are very close to seeing the real message hidden within themselves. It has to be on their terms, not ours.

I try to be patient and will never push. I’m not always successful at my own self-discipline, but I’m learning.

Immature? You must not have read the Bible. Maybe because Eckist are not aloud to. Im not an Eckist and I am free to read what ever I want. The reason why Eckist are not permited to read the Bible is because Harold Klemp says, “you cant serve two masters.” Harold says, “Jesus is dead, you cant serve a dead master.” Mr. Willow, how do you explain such sayings? … Or tell me about HU. Jim, above, made a coment that the words ALLAH and HU make up the word ALLELUIA. Thats great! I feed off that kind of stuff. I chant HU but I dont Know At which pich, High or low?

  20. Jim
    31. October 2008 um 03:40

    Wyatt,
If you ever attend a HU Chant that the ECKists hold, you will find it is up to you. Ever attend a church service? I sometimes go to one as my wife prefers to remain a Catholic. There you will hear if you listen closely, not everyone can carry a tune. They’ll be off key. They know it which is why they only sing during the singing so few people will be able to hear them. So don’t worry if you are in harmony with everyone else. That will come over a period of time. Sing high, sing low. That’s up to you. I might start out high, but once it gets rolling with everyone else, I’ll switch to a lower key, still in harmony, because my vocal cords get tired after while straining to stay on the higher notes. And sometimes you’ll find the group chanting may shift a bit in pitch to accomodate various individuals. Not to worry. It’s what’s happening on the inside that counts. You may have experiences or you may not. These tend to run in cycles. Be patient with yourself and with the ECK.

Also, when you read The Tiger’s Fang, don’t expect your experiences to match his. His story of his experience was for him and the rest of us to learn what these higher worlds are like as well as the messages that the various manifestations of the Sugmad gave. They all knew he would write about it later which is why he had this particular experience given him.

Not all of us are going to be writers like him. His message was for everyone. Our messages won’t necessarily reach that kind of an audience. He worked with publishers. Our work is here in the Internet.

Maturity is a matter of perception. A better way to express a viewpoint without putting someone down would be, lesser experienced. One must be careful in using that word as maturity is found in different areas. We may be mature in some areas but not others. And simply because one may be a higher initiate than another doesn’t necessarily reflect spiritual maturity. An ECK Master once said that in listening to a discussion between a lower initiate and a higher initiate, he was of the opinion that the lower inittiate was a bit further along than the higher initiate was in his insights on a spiritual subject.

So one must be careful in parading his knowledge out in front of others. Sometimes it is best to simply shut up than to stick one’s foot in one’s mouth regretting what one has said. That’s why the ultimate goal is to become a Silent One. Shhhhh.

I’d like to thankyou Wyatt for the opportunity to present some things i,ve learnt and also in learning something new. First of all Harold Klemp is probably the best person to answer your question, it would only be secondhand coming from my mouth. I have noticed though that many people will grab a single sentence and go out on a limb with it far away from the context of the broader meaning that is trying to be put forward.

I believe Paul Twitchell, the founder of Eckankar read the bible once a yaer for several years if I remember rightly. I have never come across anything in an Eck book that says ” do not read the bible” let alone in all the books. Am I missing something? I wonder if this is grabbing one sentence from somewhere and taking it out of it’s broader context.

It does not take a scholar to work out that a book that was written a long time back in the past and during a time when the priesthood held much power that it is possible some or much of it may be questionable. It is fairly obvious too that Jesus the man is dead. Of course Jesus as Soul lives on. I say this also realising many people get great inspiration following Jesus the Christ, as they see it. For others it seems to make more sense to follow a master that is alive to-day and presenting the teachings of Divine Love that is more appropriate for the times. A living teaching written for our day and age seems to be a better approach for many people. Divine Will guides us in this process. For those that believe Jesus is the only real master, I will respect that and hope they give me the same space.

The thread started off on a light-hearted note about
HU, then, to put it politely, some misconceptions get posted about an admirable teaching, taking away the light-heartedness of the thread. I can understand your questioning but the way you’ve gone about it I felt needed some response but maybe I might learn to shutup instead one day. In the politest way I know under the circumstances and rememebering a time when i had many questions, and also the day I realised I had been looking at Eckankar immaturely. [This day something had clicked and i emailed an Eckist to tell him that what he had written has helped me look at eckankar in what seems a more mature light.] And my concern for other readers getting the wrong idea [though I hope they can think for themselves as well] and not to mention my love of reptiles i decided to write the first post. Maybe i broke one of my aggreements which says “take nothing personally “, a bit of Toltec wisdom, but maybe I didn’t.

Seeing this thread is about the HU I would like to share with you and others a spiritual excersise that has helped me so much to be able to feel love in my heart. I hope this will help others just as much. I am a bit of a begginner in posting and talking about Eck on the internet or to just about anyone apart from a very few so I apologise if my ego gets in the way at times but I do not regret it, regret reaks of guilt, we all learn by our mistakes and I at least try to keep to the truth and my heart as much as possible at least for where I’m at now. Writing about something you want to know more about is a good way to go, so far the journey of writing like this has helped in knowing more about Eck and feeling the presence of God.

This excersise is similar to the main one I use. I,ve taken this out of one of Harold Klemps books called The Spiritual Excersises of Eck. As Jim has pointed out in a couple of his posts we ALL come into Eck in our own timing. And i would also like to add that in time we ALL will know the peace and love of God. Enjoy the journey. I say no more.

    LISTENING FOR GOD-
Try this spiritual excercise to help you hear the two aspects of God, the Light and Sound.
Go somewhere quiet. Sit or lie down in a comfortable place. Put your attention on the Spiritual Eye, a point just above your eyebrows. With eyes lightly shut, begin to sing a holy word or phrase, such as HU, God, Holy Spirit, or ” Show me thy ways, O LORD.” But fill your heart with love before you approach the altar of God, because only the pure may come.
Be patient. Do this excercise for several weeks, for a limit of 20 minutes each time. Sit, sing, and wait. God speaks to you only when you are able to listen. Harold Klemp.

I know i said i would say no more but after posting the above post I sat down to open harold’s book again and the following paragraph got my attention and I think it is appropriate to post it. Harold speaks of the Spiritual Excersises. There is obviously more but this seems a pretty important paragraph. Now I go to join the silent one’s. Cheers.

Be patient with yourself. It is a rare person who has instant success and dramatis results right away. Expect subtle, gradual changes in your outlook on life over a period of weeks or months. A good way to keep track of this is is using a journal to note any insights, perceptions, or changes you notice in yourself. Harold Klemp.

I hope I’m not discouraging meaningful discussion here when I said “Shhhh.” But it’s getting better by the post. Good points, Willow. You, too, Wyatt. My experience in posting goes back some years when I first got on the Internet back in 1999. I started out using a now defunct device called WebTV which had a limited browser capability but was affordable at the time compared to the prices that were being charged for the computers at that time. Since then, the prices for computers have dropped dramatically!

When I first got on the Internet, I didn’t get much sleep the first couple of nights. I was so thrilled at what I was experiencing. It was as if a book store opened up on one side of my home and the Public Library opened up on the other side. And yet here it was on my TV screen. I discovered message boards in several locations. My favorite one was on Lycos.com where I joined a discussion group on the subject of reincarnation. We posted over 300 entries over several months between me and about 3 or 4 others. One of those contributors and I became good friends and we still email each other to this day. He’s not an ECKist but an independent Christian who happens to instinctively KNOW that reincarnation is what really happens instead of the Christian belief that we only have one shot at heaven. He’s known this since he was born. He wasn’t taught it. He just knew it. He’s also done some Astral Projection.

Now some of what I’ve said here gets back to your original thoughts you expressed, Wyatt, about reincarnation being the dominant thought in the world and about Christians slowly leaning in that direction even though science doesn’t find any proof of it. Well, scientists are not convinced of the existance of God or an afterlife either. So don’t go leaning on science too much for it will destroy any beliefs you have about religion regardless of which religion you profess. Religious experiences occur in the consciousness. Do you remember seeing “Contact” starring Jodie Foster? That will give you some idea of the struggle between religion and science. Rent it out sometime if you missed seeing it.

Ive been away from the computer and was anxious to see what you guys wrote and am happy that it turned out good. You guys made some great points and i do wish I could take back a few words i wrote. Im a Christian and i beleive in reincarnation, its throughout the book of Job in Bible. There was a time in my life where i would here a voice… a really fast whispering voice. One morning i saw this invisible shimering form that flew through the air faster than lightnimng and as it flew it streached, at the same time i heared the same whispering voice telling me not to listen to my own negative thoughts that they were a lie. So i truely beleive in the Spiritual. The same whispering voice told me that everytime a person sneezes the sound is Gods name in Hebrew. AHCHUUUUU. You see the HUU? AHCHOOO. The Hebrew God is called YA.HU. YAHU. So im interested in YAH and HU. Im interested in understanding. I read 52 books on Eckankar in 3 monthes at a cost of $688.00. I even read a comic book that Paul Twithell wrote about time. In that comic book Paul wrote that the Hebrew God has two heads. Two Gods in One, one good, one bad. I find it interesting that the same God has the name YA.HU, two Sounds in One. The God of Eckankar is called Sugmad and His sound is Hu, His ancient Name. I so much wish to understand Hu and Sugmad. All i know is that He is the Highest God and that the God of the Bible is a lower god so the books of Eckankar say. The Tigers Fang by Paul. Oh shoot! i have to go.

Keep in mind that sounds emitted by you carry a frequency to convey a thought. They have a power of their own that carries a two edged sword. This works against those that appear to oppose you but also wounds you at the same time. Karma works this way. It grinds slowly but exceedingly well as the saying goes. We often don’t connect bad things happening to us as karma being paid off somewhere down the line.

God has many names according to the state of consciousness of the individual at the time. In the Bible is another name of God called Yahweh. These are but mantras used to fine tune one’s consciousness to be more in harmonious with the ECK. Each word works on a particular level. In Psalms you find the word Selah. That’s another mantra. Whisper them to yourself in times of need. That goes for all names of God.

52 books in 3 months. How much did you retain? That’s cramming way too much into yourself in such a short period of time. It’s so easy to do in the beginning of your studies. Slow down and contemplate what’s written each day. Paul Twitchell wrote about how he was a speed reader by consuming 11 newspapers a day,200-300 magazines a month and 20,000 to 30,000 books a year. He said he didn’t really read them, he just skimmed them. But when he came across something that was really interesting to him, he would take his time reading them like everyone else. Take your time a smell the flowers along the way. There is a message from God in each one. So it’s more than head knowledge, it’s heart wisdom.

Two faces of God. There’s many conservative Christians that can’t handle that concept as they feel it is a put down of their own God. There will be some good times and some not-so-good times down the road of life. This is a testing ground for soul to learn lessons of life from. This world was created so there are two sides to every issue in life. I could dwell upon this point but like you and everyone else my time is limited. so it will have to wait for another time.
