Footprints of a Transient Existence

Time taxes life
until were left bled,
dead bankrupt,
caught up,
having paid our debts
of breaths
to the flower beds we’ve tended
to carry on our name
through their pollinating payments
to the soil,
loyal to preserve
our footprints tints of a
transient existence.

I love how you show the interbeing of us and plants through our expiration equaling their inspiration, which they transform into their own populating lives. Thus we carry on through their offspring. Quite beautiful, actually.

  2. Travis says:

Brandy, I fixed your link. I think you accidentally put ….blogpost.com instead of …blogspot.com. Anyways, I corrected it after I figured it out.

  7. emptyvessel says:

travis can u try expressing from a flower point of view? sure not going to be the same!

  8. Travis says:

How are you interpreting this poem emptyvessel?

  9. emptyvessel says:

i saw it from a human being point of view… cant it be that the flower survives with our CO2? well am not bringing a scientific argument! jus wondering how it would ve been if a flower expressed…

  10. Travis says:

Ah, I see. From your perspective its a very good point. Perhaps I will write a poem from the flowers perspective.

However, think of the flowerbed in a metaphorical sense, and the poem to be speaking of that in which exist and how everything affects everything else around it, kind of becoming one with the motion of all things.

  11. emptyvessel says:

mmmmm……. my perception was bit different. well let me try the flower’s point of view. thanks mr.wordsmith :-)

  12. Travis says:

and when that in which expires… it’s footfprints lives on through everything else…and so the wheel turns.

  13. emptyvessel says:
