anonymous julie, was is difficult to read as structured?

Mike, thank you for your wonderful insight! You are quite right. I really appreciate your feebback.

emptyvessel, I'm glad you were able to connect with this poem. Perhaps it was a combination of the form and content that made your feel comfortable.

V Ramaswamy, I will check out your blog, thank you for visiting!

This poem has a wonderful musical quality with all the alliteration and assonance. I can see multiple meanings in your ending as well. Obviously the one you mentioned, Travis, is there, about the "quality" of poetic speech versus conversational speech. But also it could be read a bit like escapism, like reading (or writing) poetry as a surrogate for personal conversation "in person." Or that the poetry the speaker reads/writes is not just a higher "quality" of speech, but is of greater importance and value. Nice work!

Interesting, fun, the way you broke the lines makes it a little challenging to read, to find what's in there...

Happy birthday!!!

Don, A comment my mother made some time ago about my poetry prompted me to write this. She said, she was suprised that the poetry I write really comes from "ME" because I don't speak like I write. I explained, If a poet speaks exactly like he or she writes, many people would be left with a "huh, what did he say?" reaction.

I like this close: "only truth that these
written rhetorics I read
exceed the daily dialogs between
you and I"

Curious about what thought or experience or feeling prompted this poem...
