Buzzerless Morning

Missed the alarm
Brushed teeth
Put on clothes
Started car
Raced to work
Four minutes late
Turned on laptop
Logged in
Checked email
Remembered last nights dream
Scary
Mouth dry
Hands dry
Coffee cup empty
Missed the alarm

and on days like those it can feel like you’re always 4 minutes behind, even when you try your best to overcompensate.

just needs to be recent (within the past 2 weeks, preferably). but if there’s something you really love and want to share, and it doesn’t quite fit into the two weeks thing, let me know. am not exactly playing by the rules ^_^

This made me chuckle! Alarm clocks when they’re heard or when they’re not, are scary things. I try to control mine by turning it off or turning down the volume, but it still wins, it still has me under it’s control.

Hi Kamsin, I’m glad you got a laugh out of this poem. I use my cell phone as my alarm clock, but I forgot to put it next to my bed last night. Argh.

Ah, the missed alarm. It sucks that we’re so tied to them, but little choice do we have. I swear by this. Wakes you up as gently as possible, with a beautiful tone.

I have three little boys. They usually end up in bed with us, and I end up sleeping on the floor. LOL.

It was meant to be, Travis. Been there and done that. Made me smile.

    Know that too well.
    Know this one better:
    I’ll sleep a little more
    just a little more.
    Feels like eternity,
    stay here forever…

    Awaken with a start
    panicking, check the clock:
    five minutes have passed,
    grr;
    deepest, most silent rest
    ruined by alarmlessness!

Ok, I’ve sort of cleared things out. Now I’ll have to give it time to heal the wounds made.
